Cultural Relics and Historic Sites

 

Jiangyin has over 370 cultural relics of all kinds and levels, and 95 cultural relic protection units. Its ancient cultural sites include North Hucheng River and Majiabang Cultural Relics of Qitoushan Mountain; ancient tombs include Wu Jizha's tomb, Zhong Lei's tomb, and Xu Xiake's tomb; ancient temples include Xingguosi Pagoda established in Northern Song Dynasty, ruins of Huangshan Emplacement established in Ming Dynasty, and ancient Confucian Temple architectural complex established in early Song Dynasty; celebrities' former residences include Xu Xiake’s former residence, Cao Yingfu's former residence, Liu Brothers' former residence, Wu Wenzao and Bing Xin’s former residence, Master Ju Zan’s former residence, Zhang Dalie's former residence and Shang Guan Yunzhu's former residence; famous parks include Shiyuan Park and Zhongshan Park; historic steles include Huan’e Stele of Wang Xizhi in Eastern Jin Dynasty, giant Xinjing Stele of Master Dao Songshu in Tang Dynasty, Qingshan Hall’s Stone Inscription in Ming Dynasty, Stele Passageway of Mohua Shed, Wanchuan Garden (now Zhongshan Park) in early Northern Song Dynasty, Stele of Emperor Qianlong, rebuilt Stele of Learning Supervision Notes of Jiangyin County, renovated Stele of Examination Room’s Supervision Notes, Allocution Stele jointly inscribed by Tie Bao, Governor of Jiangsu, Anhui and Jiangxi Provinces, Jiang Zhiyi, Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Huang Jin, Education Commissioner of Jiangsu Province in 1805. Besides, Xu Xiake, giant wild cursive Xinjing Stele, and the red bean tree personally planted by Xiao Tong, Zhaoming Prince of Liang Dynasty, were known as "Three Miracles of Jiangyin" across the world.
